An 8-year-old boy drinks tea in the Antarctic – the journey following the 4 deserts

The “4 Deserts” race series was defined by the Times as one of the “10 toughest endurance competitions in the world” and includes 4 races of 250 kilometers. The races take place in the Gobi, Namibia, Atacama and Antarctic deserts. In each race, the competitors must carry all the necessary equipment and food for the six stages of the race, and the longest of them, the long march, spans 80-100 kilometers. I came to the series almost by accident following the cancellation of another race in Israel and found myself on a journey of years following a big dream, discovering new worlds within myself, and undergoing a fundamental change in my perspective on the world. The lecture describes my journey in the racing series. So far I have completed the Gobi, Namibia and Antarctic races – and Atacama is still on the way.

ההרצאה מתארת את המסע שלי בסדרת המרוצים. עד כה השלמתי את מרוצי גובי, נמיביה ואנטארקטיקה – ואטקמה עדיין בדרך. סדרת המרוצים “4 המדבריות” הוגדרה על ידי הטיימס כ”אחת מעשר תחרויות הסבולת הקשות בעולם” והיא כוללת 4 מרוצים בני 250 קילומטר. המרוצים מתקיימים במדבריות גובי, נמיביה, אטקמה ואנטארקטיקה. בכל מרוץ על המתמודדים לשאת בעצמם את כל הציוד והמזון הדרושים לששת שלבי המירוץ, והארוך שבהם מתפרש על פני 80-100 קילומטרים.  אל הסדרה הגעתי כמעט במקרה בעקבות ביטול מרוץ אחר בישראל ומצאתי את עצמי במסע של שנים אחרי חלום גדול, מגלה עולמות חדשים בתוך עצמי, ועובר שינוי מהותי בנקודת המבט שלי על העולם.
